Wow, I hate to have to break this to all of you--I received so many nice emails and generous wishes--but did you realize what day yesterday was? I'm in a bit of shock myself, actually; I was wondering if anyone was going to fall for it, but the only people to call me on it were my brother, Rob, and my friend, Misha, and even they weren't entirely sure. Eric is still single. In case you're wondering, everything in the post is true except the little part about marriage.
Here are our current plans: Anne and I are going to stay in India together until mid-May. I've decided to scrap S.E. Asia for this trip. The temperatures are just getting too hot. We will be taking a break from each other for a couple weeks starting in a few days. She'll be visiting some of the places I've already seen and I will be heading back toward the Himalayas to visit Darjeeling. The temperatures will be cooler and I will be able to start getting back in shape.
Last summer I attempted to backpack the Colorado Trail, a 480 mile hiking trail through some of Colorado's most beautiful country. To my great disappointment, I had to call it off at about the half-way point due to an odd case of vertigo. At the end of May, I'll be returning to Denver and will attempt it again a few weeks later, at the end of June. This time I won't I won't be going solo. My friend, Laura will be joining me (or me joining her). Anne will be moving on to New Zealand for a year. What will happen with us ? We'll have to wait and see...

I figured (and I told Rob and Scott this) that you were just trying to get me back for every joke/yarn/prank that I have ever played on you (and everyone).
You did cause quite a "hum" back here!!! You have strings of emails being shot back and forth. Some people believed it, others (like me) doubted that you would be so impersonal with it in a blog.

F that Bret! Did you notice that Eric's in a friggin diaper now??! I didn't think the Indian food would affect him so. Poor guy.
Now all the broken hearts back home can heal and we can all move on with our lives.
I figured if Eric was silly enough to get married in India to a girl he's only known for 6 weeks, then being impersonal in a blog was really not that much of a surprise. Great April Fools Eric, just remember turn about is fair play in this group.
The diaper? Come on...it is India! It is required to wear a diaper there if you are a westerner. Everyone gets some form of dysentery there if they spend enough time. I just figured that Eric was going through some "stomach issues". Good for Anne to have stuck with him throughout those issues - it can be quite messy sometimes. Eric, did you say Anne was a nurse?

I may also have been biased towards Anne because she has such a beautiful name. And I really do love the pictures.

May the fleas of a 1000 camels prolifer within that diaper you wear. It was believeable but it WAS April Fools. I don't think anyone was 100% confident either way. There will be a long line for those who will kick your scrawny, diaper laden butt after a warm hug and sloppy kiss.
